    NC Flounder Season 2022

Just got announced this morning. Sep 1-30. 15" minimum. One per day. https://islandfreepress.org/fishing-...for-sept-1-30/

I like the one a day for a longer season rather than last years 2 weeks.

Not from NC but nice to see them something about the Flounder being overfished. We have a few inland lakes that they need to put smaller limits on for Walleye because they are over fished.

It's just too bad the commercial lobbyists control Marine Fisheries so they get a much longer season with a much higher quota. If they were interested in protecting the resource then they'd implement more limits. This will be the third year of a flounder season and the quality of the flounder I've been catching has gone up. Of course that's just one anecdotal source.

We too have been catching some quality Flounder lately.
It is very difficult and understandable, for those that live either Inland / Off the Coastal Waters of NC or those from other states, to understand the issues Reactional Fishermen had to deal with because to the allowances given to Commercial Fishing.
Example: We do not post pictures with any background information. Those that do, will find their "Hot Spot" over run with nets the very next day.
