Power Pole (Oil around pumps after rough water ride)

I have the Pro Series II, Monster Series pumps.
Seems I always have oil on the area around both pumps after taking wakes or a rough chop. Can oil get thru the vents in the service caps? Possibly over serviced? Normal?
I always wipe down the bilge area and around the pumps to stop oil build up.
Whats interesting is I never need to add oil?
    Any input would be appreciated.

    Couple things to check.
Pump reservoirs fluid levels are below the max fill line?
With the boat at rest (like it would be on the water) the reservoirs are level? This may vary considerably from the trailered position. Are the reservoirs level when in a trailered position?
The yellow Parker vent cap has a foam insert that allows ventilation of the tank. If it gets constantly sloshed with fluid it can wick that fluid out of the reservoir. Remove the caps and remove the foam insert. Clean with Dawn, dry, and reinstall just snug. Allot of leaks occur as a result of a cracked cap due to over tightening.

Thanks. I will check for leveling of the pumps. Clean the caps and check for cracks.

Flex of the lines at the fittings can also cause leaks too.

My Starboard pump was leaking ...... It was the reservoir itself leaking at the seam . Called Power Pole they sent a new Reservoir. No more leaks.

Mike’s advice is spot on. To keep bilge clean get yourself some oil absorbent pads (ones that will not absorb water). I keep 1/2 a sheet under each ppole pump and my jackplate pump and a whole one under my oil reservoir. Amazon has them.

Does anyone know where to get aftermarket reservoir caps? PP wants $16 for the part and $26 for the cheapest shipping…not reasonable in either case.
    thanks

Parker cap is available at most hydraulic repair centers like Carter Cat and others for $6.

noticed residual fluid and accumulation of dirt on one of my pumps. Fluid level was not too low. there is a Max/Min line on reservoir that is very hard to see. My reservoir cap was cracked.

Common occurrence. Overtightening of the cap.
