    One shotgun

Walking down all kinds of memory lanes, music, tv shows, wrestling, but about your shotgun? The best you have ever owned? I currently own a new A5 walnut stock with 26" bbl. it's a pretty gun, light and I love it. The most expensive one I have owned. However, I killed more critters with a cheap Rem 870 Express than I care to count. I have had many different guns. Rem 1100, A5, Stoger, Franchi, Smith and Wesson, and Mossberg. The 870 wingmaster and express never failed.

Winchester SX3. 3.5” 28” bbl. Never failed to shoot any load in the many years I’ve had it. Probably close to 5,000 rounds through it. I’ve had a lot of shotguns over the years, wing shooting was and still is a passion of mine. A close 2nd is my SBE2. That one has over 15,000 through it and that’s on the low side.

And I bet you haven’t ever seen an Ithaca Semi Auto. I bought this from, let’s say…a guy who wasn’t so legally in America for $25 when I was in High School. He couldn’t get it to cycle (because he chopped the barrel right to the end of the foregrip). Ordered a 28” SKB barrel and have been shooting it for 2 decades now.

My absolute favorite that I’ve ever over owned was an Ithaca 20 Gauge side by side that was circa 1920’s. It was in immaculate condition and I could never estimate the number of doves and quail that I killed with that little gun. I had to part ways with it back in 1991 when my wife and I were purchasing our first home and I had to sell off some things to come up with a down payment. I sold that gun for $4,500 to the first guy who looked at it and immediately realized that I probably should have listed it for a little higher asking price..

My favorite was an Ithaca model 37 featherweight 12 gauge pump. Loved that gun.

The 870 wingmaster with a skeet barrel, that was given to me by my dad on my 13th birthday, and i handed down to my oldest son when he got out of the Army.

I’ve got a pile of scatterguns, but if I had to put meat on the table it would be my Benelli M2.

My SBE was made in either 90 or 91. Still going strong every duck season.

Hard to beat an 870 wingmaster. My SBE jammed today after I shot a turkey. I like my SBE OK. My son and his buddy each have one. None of them have been infallible.
