Dedicated Livescope Battery - AMP alternative

    Question:

After research it's pretty clear that most popular choice for dedicated battery for Livescope + Display is a 30 ahr AMP Lithium battery.

Since these are out until March I was looking for alternatives. Amazon has a RoyPow Lithium 30 ahr

    https://www.amazon.com/Lithium-Batte.../dp/B097Y3VY8H

Does anyone have any experience with this battery?

Noted price came up $40 in last 2 weeks.

Amped Outdoors has the 30AH with the spade terminals in stock if you are ok with that connection method. I have the Tall version which has the bolt connections and really like it.

I bought the Zooms 50 AH for around $206. Was going to buy AMPed but none in stock.

Check out this guy---he's awesome--he tears those batteries apart and tests everything---lots of great info on there. So fun to watch because he loves what he does and educates at the same time.

I also learned how to test the lithiums I buy to make sure they live up to the advertised AH---this set-up cost around $50 and has worked great to test the 3 trolling motor batteries and the livescope battery.

Super simple to use--I also have a low voltage cutoff switch in line.

I went with the 48AH. Installed it in an ammo box which rides great in my R/H storage. Run's my bow mounted 106 and GLS box all day and never falls below 14.5V. It would do longer but I always recharge after a day on the water.

I wouldn't get hung up on the terminal vs the blade connectors. I used Anderson connectors and have the option to plug into boat power or the AMP battery. Added the same connectors to the charger so it's very convenient for charging on the bench or in the boat

O'Reilly auto parts. They're the kind with the heat shrink already on them. Used the "Y" connector blade to create to different fused circuits. one for the 106 and one for the GLS

You can find terminals on eBay. Here are the shrink wrapped connectors https://www.ebay.com/itm/12469649848...cAAOSwtz1gZqzV

Same with the "Y" blade connectors. Search and you will find them. Your local autoparts store should have all of the connectors you need. If you're referring to the black/red Anderson connectors go to powerwerx.com. You will need the special crimpers for these connections. Buying them on eBay will save you $10-15

I am going to run the Redodo 100ah and 50ah. These batteries got a good review from the guy on YouTube as he did a teardown and test. The 50ah is $169 on Amazon plus $10 off with coupon and the 100ah are 2 for $613.
However I have yet to use them this year but I will report on them as soon as I get a chance to run them.
