Agree with NoCAL. You need to download the update again on a blank card, 32GB or less, and formatted to FAT32. Then make sure the file name is correct.

I think that is the problem. If you’ve downloaded many times, that could explain the (7)! Guaranteed there is something wrong if the size doesn’t match. I’m just did it AGAIN on my Mac with Chrome and my size is consistently the same. Are you using a mSD card less than 32 gigs?

Will this latest version work on HDS gen3's? I'm having the same issues

The last update for Gen 3 was 18.2. Meaning the second update released in 2018. That’s as far as you can go with a Gen 3. We are discussing updates for newer units released in 2022. You should be able to use a Gen 3 to update the StructureScan 3D module to Ver. 22.1 which was the problem the OP was asking about.

So can you now update your SS3D past your HDS Gen 3? I was always told not to take my SS3D past 18.2 if that was what my HDS Gen 3 was. Are the images any better with 22.1 than with 18.2?

I agree with NoCAL. On your computer delete all the previous downloads you did of 22.1. The (7) represents the 7th time you downloaded the same file name so your computer added a (1), (2), etc. after each file name. That is making the file unrecognizable by your Lowrance units.

I had a similar issue in updating Ss3d box from my live units ssd card reader. We tried both hds head units in the boat, multiple ssd cards, and multiple downloads on different computers. The update appeared to work, but the software version was still the same after the unit booted. Same thing when powering on the hds live and the unit offered to update the 3d module. Finally my dealer copied the update file to one of the hds head units internal storage, and then performed the upgrade from the hds internal storage. That worked as expected. Maybe this will work in your case. Lowance stated something about network transfer block sizes when reading from the ssd card reader to the 3d module.
