Power Pole Charge - both fuses blown

    Current set up.

    3 - Ionic Lithium’s-50 AH for TM
    1 - Odyssey Group 31 cranking battery.

    3 HDS Live 12
    1 Humminbird Helix 12
    Mega 360 & Active Target

Check the PP charge app yesterday and it was unavailable, disconnected from unit. No big deal every was working fine.

    Fished all day.

starting battery was low at end of day, but no issue.

    TM batteries at 80%

Plugged in charge unit and no lights came on.

checked this morning and both fuses were blown. Disconnected and changed fuses. Reconnected and the cable sparked and blew the fuses again.

    What are my next steps?

looks like the charger has an issue.

I may be redesigning my entire electrical system.

What was the temperature when you first tried to charge the batteries? Did the motor battery charge? Do the fuses blow when connected to a lead acid battery?

    Temperatures were in the 50s

yes Charge was connected and seems to be working properly.

plugged it in after Tx and that is when I think they blew. Both the 40 Amp and 25 amp.

O.K. now you need a Lithium expert and it ain't me. 40 amps is a colossal output of a charger. I suggest you hook one suspect lead set to a 12 volt lead acid battery with a good charge already and put the recommended fuse in the proper place. Then measure the output at the battery terminals. If it exceeds 16 volts, blows the fuse or heats up the battery it SEEMS to me the charger is bad.
If it blows the fuse the charger needs a new home, not your boat. Otherwise your batteries (both) have issues. Not likely but possible.

I realize this is an old post, but what type of fuse is the 40A and 25A? I thought I had bought the right size and after looking at them, it doesn't appear that's the case. Mine aren't blown, but want to carry an extra set.
