I might be making a weekend trip down there here soon and would like to know the lake conditions:
Water temp?
Clarity?

got a text from a buddy down there last week, at one of the dogfights it took over 20 pounds to get a check in 3rd place with 2 fish over 8.5 and one over 7. I'd say its going pretty good
That is a heck of a bag! Did he mention Water Temp?

They are biting after you find them. We did not catch any of them monsters but did get a couple 4's and one 5#'er over the weekend.

Dang, I'd say they are
30 lb sack for the win this weekend. Water temp is in the mid 50's on the river and upper 50's in the creeks and coves. It's going to be a great spring on the Chick for sure.
I'm glad to see this lake is alive and well. I'm relocating from Madisonville, KY (and fishing KY Lake) to Cleveland, TN the first weekend of April for a new job. If any of you guys need a fishing partner or want to take a poor guy out whos new to the area shoot me a message!
Should be an easy transition for you. Probably the 2 most similar lakes on the TN river.
You will have a blast this summer sitting on some deep ledges.
Thats good to hear. I've already been checking out the navionics and pulling up potential ledge spots. I'm really interested to see how that FLW Tour stop goes on Chickamauga.
If you are going to be in Cleveland then make sure you check out Parksville Lake. If you like catching spotted bass, it's the place to be!
A 9.1 pound smallie was pulled out of chicamauga a few weeks ago. The big bass are turning on.

I live 5 minutes from the Harrison Bay State park ramp and can tell you that fishing is not bad here. The bass are in the 2-5 foot depths, haven't moved out in the deep water yet. They are hitting on brush hogs, spinners, and some lizards. Also some Buzz bait action too. Water level keeps moving up and down with all the rain, it went down 2 feet from Sat to Mon. Makes a little harder to find the fish in the same places all the time. Over all I would say the fishing isnt bad. Work the shallows and around structure and rip rap. Water temps have been in the high 60s and clarity as of Monday was about 2-3 feet though cloudy along the muddy banks.
