    inshore casting rod

I've inherited an old Calcutta 400, I've spent about $50 getting it cleaned and fixing what was broken at the tackle trap. I don't really have a use for it, I've already got a swimbait rod, so I was thinking I may make it a saltwater combo for when I go to the gulf. I'd like to spend no more than $200 on it and Ideally it would be 2 pc 7'6"-8'. Any suggestions?

I guess it all depends on what your are fishing for when you go to the Gulf? If it is Reds, I would set it up as a Heavy Bass Rod or a Striper Rod. If you are using it to bottom fish, I would get a fairly stiff rod for yanking them up from the bottom. All in all, I would set it up for whatever you may want to use it in the future. (Most folks use too heavy of a rig when going to the ocean or gulf.)
