    Any sharptail hunters?

My brothers and I are trying to plan a trip to North Dakota to sharptail hunt. Trying to gather some info. We have been the Game and Fish website. Gathering stuff there.
Anyone familiar with the area around Dickinson/Belfield for sharpies?

Yes, on the pheasant. We are going to be there before the pheasant opener. Something different to do. We enjoy pheasant hunting also.

It has been very dry around there this year. Not sure if that will help or hinder the bird crop.

Eating sharptail is about like eating woodcock, nothing like pheasant. It will not be a banner season due to lack of rainfall and heat.

They got some rain the past couple days, but afraid the bad has already overtaken what good that will do. Some areas, southwest, aren't as bad. We're still trying to decide on the trip.

So a little south there is possibility to shoot up prairie dog towns, we are going to do some of that if we can tag out of our antelopes.

Well two long days south of Dickinson (more like south of bowman) we did not see and sharp tails. Some other ruffled grouse and pheasants though. Good luck!

Got home last night and we were impressed. It took us a day to figure out the right covers and such. We did get into several coveys of Sharptails, one big group of Huns, and could've easily killed a limit of pheasants everyday. We'll be back next year, but a bit later so we can take advantage of the pheasant situation. Never been to North Dakota before. We will return. Got rained out Saturday but ya all definitely needed it.
