    DIY motorized LiveScope mount

This is a motorized LiveScope mount for an Ultrex Trolling motor but it works for Lowrance Active Target transducers as well. You can download and or print the PDF document for full parts list and build instructions.
    A fun project.

Don’t use the attachment. There is a revised edition in a later post.

    Bob,
My first mount was on the deck, it worked fine and May be an option for Terrova.
The mount has a spring loaded shot pin so to deploy, you just lift the pin, pull the head forward and rotate it into position. The shot pin re-engages to hold it in place.

Actually I made this straight wand for one of my friends that has a Terrova, He wanted to mount it near the console but has not come up with a bracket yet. I provided a key fob controlled relay for this one so he could direct it from anywhere in the boat.

    ThankYou
The term Geek has taken on a little more respect than when I was in college. In those days, we did not have calculators and I used to walk around campus with a Post Versa-Log hanging from my belt. Now there’s a Geek. LOL.

You mention in the instructions that you added an oring and small piece of 1 1/4 pipe to waterproof between stationary and moving pipes. How does that work? Didn't see it in instructions.

It did not work. Tended to bind the rotation movement so I replaced it with a sleeve (you can see it in the video below). I have also updated a couple other details. I will revise the PDF and post later today or tomorrow.
I am also looking for a DPDT foot switch so I can hook it directly to the motor and eliminate the reversing relay, makes a much simpler build.

I just completed an automatic scan module that is programmed to rotate the transducer back and forth about 180 degrees for 10 cycles then stop but you can stop it at any point with a button push. You can switch back to manual mode with a switch flip.
I made a video on the lake yesterday but it did not show what I wanted to illustrate so I did another at home. I apologize for the quality, not good with video’s.

That is impressive. I don’t have Livescope yet, but was just discussing a motorized setup with my fishing partner for his a Livescope. I’ll pass this on.
    Thanks Bill. Excellent work.

I made several changes since the original build sheet so I created a new one including the upgrades.
This is an installed assembly and the PDF build sheet is attached.
let me know if I can help.

This is the scan module. It is confusing to program but there is a U-Tube video that helps. Just search U-Tube for the brand name and description.

These are the other parts that make up the scan unit. The selector switch is a 6 pin DPDT with the output to the motor on the center pins and the output from the auto scan module on one end and the manual foot switch reversing relay on the other.

Let me know if you need any help with the wiring.
I just found a larger foot pedal that can be wired to hook directly to the motor so does not require a reversing relay.
it is a $60 unit but is the only electrical part you have to purchase and is a quick hookup. I had to change up some wiring inside the pedal but can supply instructions if anyone is interested.
