You need a NMEA Starter Kit and Smartcraft gateway. I went with a MercMonitor as my gateway.

Mercury speaks Smartcraft and your Solix speaks NMEA. You need a translator, commonly called a Gateway. Your options are a Mercmonitor, Vessel View Link (NOT Vessel View Mobile) or a Gateway stick. The Gateway Stick is what Norca posted above. Cost is about the same for all three. I prefer the Mercmonitor as it will be consistent if you change FF brands AND is the most expandable for digital gauges and other linkable options.

This thread is slightly out of date as Solix is completely compatible with Mercury’s offerings. Smartcraft Options.

You must be stuck between the past and future since the current SOLIX units are G3.

I had it on my Solix G1, G2, G3, and now my Apex. As Wayne said, there is no Solix G4... yet.

For my 2008 Mercury Verado 150, I needed the Smartcraft NMEA 2000 Gateway. One end connected to the Smartcraft J-Box on my boat and the other end connected to the NMEA 2000 Backbone.... see pics.
