Not much of any update, but I received a call from Lowrance. The said they issue has been officially reported to the programmers, but they don't know if/when it will be fixed at this point. They said if I want to run the custom frequency right now on the TM150, then we will need to run the older version software 20.0.1. If anyone needs it, I can figure out a way to send it to you. I've pretty much done all I can at this point. Now we just have to hurry up and wait and hope they fix it.

I’m looking at getting either a TM150 or TM165HW for use saltwater salmon trolling in 80 to 200’ of water, running a Carbon 9. Threads like this one make me hesitant to consider the 150. Do any of you have experience with the 165 to be able to compare to the 150?
Also, is there a depth at which these transducers give better results using Chirp? I find it curious that these chirp transducers seem to perform better for many users when at a fixed frequency (105 on the 150). Thanks for any advice
The only benefits of TM150 over TM165 are cost and compatibility. TM150 is cheaper, and compatible with slightly older units (like HDS Gen 3) than TM165. All other things are better with TM165.
Thanks. The screenshots you posted in your TM165HW article showed stronger and more returns on the tm150 than the 165. Is that because he wasn’t using the 165 in chirp mode and was just at a fixed frequency? I really wish I could find comparisons between the 3 in 1 in medium chirp and the 150 and 165.

Also, I see you can get an Airmar to Navico 7 or 9 pin adapter. Does it make any difference in performance or settings you can use? I’d prefer the 7 pin so I can keep my 3 in 1 plugged into channel 2
I'm running a TM 165 and like it compared to the 150, no more worry about having to run a custom setting and messing up your down/side imaging
Thinking about putting the TM 150 back on so I can compare the 2 in a split screen
Some comparisons between those two would interest a lot of us. How much improvement did you see from the 3 in 1 to the 150/165? Are you running the 165 in chirp or at a fixed frequency? Thanks
My hunch is it has something to do with Active Target. Active Target was introduced in software level 20.1 and this was the level where the lock up issue first appeared.
I emailed my case owner at Lowrance again asking for an update. She called me back and said there is no update at this time. The issue has been submitted and said the developers were actually aware of the problem prior to me even contacting them. She didn't know if they would fix it or not. I requested that this case not be closed until their is a resolution. I will contact them back in a month or so asking for another update.
I really like the TM150 but probably would have not purchased it along with the the Rytek mount if I knew this issue existed. I bought a new carbon so I could use the 3 in 1, which is pretty useless now.

Followed up with Lowrance again, still no updates on a resolution for this issue yet.

Thank you Joey!! I gave up. I look forward to hearing if they can fix this issue!
I was able to get 20.0.1 loaded on mine and it works as it should now.
Do you just have to load 20.0.1 on the unit that the tm150 is hooked into or do I have to load it on all my units?
I finally got my new boat rigged and I have the same problem. TM150 locks up my live units side and down scan....
Thinking about moving my TM150 to my one unit on the dash and running single source non network sonar. Then just run map and 2D off that and then side/down on my other unit.

Mach40: i had the same issue with my live unit and i fixed it once and for all by picking a Elite TI2 12" to run the 3 in 1 for side imaging and down imaging and running the TM150 on the live for 2D sonar and mapping,PROBLEM SOLVED!!
