Is there still anyone around that has the ability to check serial numbers for what warranty work or recall work might have been done? Thanks in advance.
Correct and that what it means in ole's post, the OMC system is not the same as BRP in terms of finding out stuff like you are after. A switched on tech can search knowledge centre for old bulletins and then compare them to what this engine has, there was a bulletin about longer deflector pins back around that era from memory. It is a 22 year old engine that if still running I doubt a faulty part from new is just going to fail but it was an era where changes were happening fast so spares suited to this age DI will be harder and harder to get.
