    Rules against pros smoking?

Are pros not allowed to smoke while fishing or while on camera? I was watching Feider this morning, he lit a cigarette then the camera panned away, Feider said something about live, then when the camera panned back the cigarette was gone. I have seen him smoke on camera before but briefly. You would think he would just dip when cameras are in his boat since many pros are doing that and it's inconspicuous.

they can smoke, but they won't show them on camera while they do.

Sponsors are one thing. They pay to run ads. But showing competitors smoking is bad for the image and not something they want the kids to see. Otherwise the cameras would be on Thrift a lot more. Dude smokes like a chimney.

It's in the rules (or at least it was a few years ago) that participants are to refrain from any tobacco use during tournament hours. However, the general rule of thumb is just don't use them on camera and there's no issue. I believe its also that way for the TBF National, the All American, and other televised events.

Bassmaster Team Championship a few years ago the director simply said don't light up when the camera boats are around or right before you walk on stage and we won't have any issues.

Remember Zell spitting a stick out, shot it out in the water--- "you didn't see that".... years ago on a bassmaster show.

I guess they are OK, because they can have the "WARNING OF CAUSING CANCER" in them.

Most of them that smoke you can tell when on live. The camera will randomly pan away. Like stated before this is why Thrift is not that televised because he smokes constantly.

I think its the same for the PGA, they have many smokers in the PGA but you will be hard pressed to see it on the TV

What is idiotic is saying what someone can do with a LEGAL product. It's a choice you can smoke/dip or not , it is your choice. Just more people trying to push their agenda on other people.
Once again we are talking about a LEGAL product .

So drinking beer, smoking, in some states enjoying pot, fishing with live bait, and talking politics would all be ok for a sponsored event?

Fishing with live bait should be outlawed. Amateurs.
