    Question Z19 Speed Help!

I’m the second owner of a nitro Z19, I love the boat, but i have an issue with my setup... hope you can help me.

    Boat: Nitro z19 2018
Motor: Mercury Pro XS 200HP (2 stroke)
    Max RPM WOT: 4900
    Max Speed WOT: 48-49 MPH
    Prop: Fury 25
    Pad to Prop: 4”
My lake is aprox 4000ft above sea level

I tried a 24 Fury prop and just gain about 100-200 RPM and 2 or 3 MPH.

What do you think it’s happening?

Your throttle cable might need to be adjusted, it doesn't seem like you're really getting WOT.

I have just checked and the hot foot it’s working fine and fully open the throttle. This afternoon all rise the motor to about 3” plate to prop. Right know the motor has 40psi of water pressure.

    Any suggestions?

It sounds like you might need to do a complete tune-up to find the problem. Plugs, plug wires, fuel system, filters, water intake might be clogged up also, causing high water pressure,

Let us know when you find out what it is,

40 psi engine needs to be raised.
I believe psi at wide open should be 15-20 psi

Level trailer. Level engine. Start with centerline of prop shaft 3" below pad and work up from there if necessary.

Are you trimming the engine up once you are going? If it's not trimmed up a bunch the boat will plow water with lots of drag trimming up will lift the hull out of the water.

The 25 prop is to much. Try a 23 fury and raise the motor.

What if said above. You need to spin that engine to 5700 rpm.

Fury 25 is to much prop. Try to find a 23 and go from there.

Just came back from the lake, I did try some props, a 22 ballistic, a 23 tempest and a 25 fury (this last prop performed best), here are the results (someone may benefit from this info):
Raised the motor from 4” to 2-1/4” prop to pad.
RPM @ WOT went from 4900 to 5200
Max speed from 49 to 62
My home lake it’s 4000f above sea level

For me this are much better numbers, not sure if a 24 fury may give me an extra 3-4 MPH, don’t know anyone that has it to try it, and not sure if its worth 700usd to try...

Just came back from the local lake, I did try different props, a 22 ballistic, a 23 tempestII and a 25 Fury, this last prop was the one gave more speed, the 22 and 23 top RPM pretty fast without the increase in speed. Here is what I got after rising the motor:

    25 Fury Prop
Plate to Prop was 4”, now is 2-1/4”
RPM was 4900, now is 5200
Top speed was 49 MPH, now is 62MPH

I’m not able to try a 24 pitch prop and don’t know anyone that has it...

Being in the more ideal rpm might not get you much more speed going to a 24, but likely better overall performance. Raising the motor seemed like your biggest fix.
