Gary put me on the Daiwa Kage 7’9” MHRB and I love it. Only rod I’ve ever enjoyed using to throw the rig.

I'm glad you like it. I've fished a lot of umbrella rig rods, many costing a lot more, and the Daiwa Kage 79MHRB A-Rig is easily one of the best. I use it for a bunch of glide baits, bull shads, mag treble cranks, it handles a 10XD great too.

Can’t speak for daiwa and I’m sure it’s a solid choice but after watching tactical bassin I went with Shimano zodias 7’5 heavy and have been very pleased so far.

Conquest 904c is amazing. I love my fury 806 for heavy rigs (and its sooooo cheap for what you get).

Conquest 904C is a great stick. I own two of them. The Daiwa Kage mentioned above is a much better umbrella rig rod though.

Anyone using a expride to throw the a rig? If so, which one are you using? Im using the 7'7" Heavy expride, but it feels slightly underpowered.

I was using the same Expride. Broke it. The Kage is way better.

Not only does TT have an in house reel repair guru, but also a great rod repair and customization guy. If you wanted that exact rod turned into a split grip, he can make that happen and make it look good!

I was planning on using this rod as well. Are you throwing 5 heads, no dummies? What weight heads? I'll be bummed if I feel the same way when the ice melts.

Much appreciated. I'm planning on 2 dummies, then the same as your set up. Hopefully, a little less weight will help, otherwise I'll repurpose a different rod.
