    TRACTION PADDING IN CONSOLE AREA

Does anyone have any regrets in going with the new padding in the cockpit area on the new boats? Debating on whether to got with the padding or just keep the carpet.

I pulled out the carpet in my boat several weeks ago and installed the traction pad and couldn't be happier.

I have traction pad as well and it is great - quick drying and stays cleaner.

Best thing ever. Easy to clean up. Just hose off at the end of the day.

Hooks...no problem. Don’t fish barefoot so can’t say, but it doesn’t appear to get very hot...no hotter than any other surface. I’ll take it over carpet that molds..is a pita to clean, and stays wet forever after a good soaking. Overall it looks much better as well.

This is 1 of my projects for the off-season to do on my 2017 520C... just can't decide on doing a "start from scratch" plan or shelling out the xtra money on precut/already measured piece from Ranger

I wouldn't buy another boat with carpet in the cockpit or in any compartments. I would like to try a boat with no carpet next with some type of eva foam on the whole deck. I would love to try a Falcon F20 Predator with the F20 Hybrid flooring and slam latches.

The console are carpet in my 07 521vx has a binding sew around the perimeter and all my carpet is perfect throughout my boat and the I don’t have any complaints about carpet in general. But. I do thing the padding looks pretty cool and I’m considering it and wondering if that factory carpet can be removed without destroying it and possibly install it if I ever want to go back.

As far as you guys that are running it on the full front deck, how does it work out when you are fishing in the rain with a wet deck and then you take off and run down the lake? Seems like the water would sheet off and fill your boots, since in doesn’t hold water like the carpet does.
