AVX, longer off the box, less spin is better for me as I’m a trapper and have problems spinning the ball too much!

balata ..........................golf isn't even golf anymore. The balls today feel like a Top Flite from the 1980s

Yep, today's ball takes a lot of skill out of the game.

How does the ball take the skill out? It is all about ball striking. If anything, equipment from persimmon age to titanium age has a larger affect than the ball

Spin....side spin and back spin and being able to control both. Today's ball doesn't have the side spin balata balls had, so a slice with today's ball would have been a lost ball with a balata. The added back spin from the balata means the ball is harder to control in the wind as opposed to today's ball. A great example is Tiger Woods in 2001-2002, he was the only player on the PGA tour that had the first version of the modern golf ball. Nike wouldn't even let their other Tour players use that ball.

can you even still buy a balata? I played the tour 90s a lot, but I liked the maxfli balata better. But it’s been 20 years since I’ve seen one.

There is a reason that all the other manufacturers compare their golf balls to the PROV1.

Prov1 is the standard for performance and quality in the golf ball industry.

I played my best golf as a kid using anything I found in the creek or the woods. Pretty sure I never paid for a golf ball until I was in my 20's. Now I pay for premium balls and clubs and don't play nearly as well.

Play best with pro V1. Used to love the NXT tours and callaway chrome but they always change stuff when you like something. Now I switch between Bridgestone e-6 and Titliest velocity. Swing speed 102 handicap is 6. Still love a pro V1 just can’t afford it

.?.??...?.? What the heck does that even mean, I have played golf since 1966 pr so I still shoot between 72-100 no matter what clubs I use or ball I use ,I play with a set of 86' Wilson staff blades all the way to a new set of mizuno jpx hot metal pro,
my punchout game is almost elite, I can 3 putt from 6 foot with an old club special/topflite or a chrome soft/ prov. The ball hasn't changed my swing or practice habits.
