Some of you may recall that I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in June 2019 and had surgery last August to remove it. Even though my lab report said that the cancer had not escaped the prostate, I still have to have a PSA test every 3 months for a year, then every 6 months for 10 years and then once a year after that. There’s always a chance that a couple cancer cells escaped or that a tiny bit of prostate tissue was left behind and it could start to grow back. My PSA number was .01 for my first two post-op tests. But, in May it came back at .02. That’s still only 2 millionths of a gram, but my number went up, which is never good. It scared the heck out of me. I could see radiation treatments in my future. Long story short, we did another PSA test Friday, and the Doc called this morning and I’m .01 again! Praise Jesus! WHEW!
