Looking for ideas to either use a floating case w/lanyard or attaching some kind of flotation to the remote.. Feel like I’m going to loose it someday in the lake...

Mine came with a lanyard. I've heard that they do not float !!!
Ranger Boats / Mercury Motors
G Loomis Rods / Shimano Reels
Raymarine / MinnKota Ultrex
Garmin / Live Scope Plus
Pepper Jigs / Robo Worms
Vatrer Lithium / V-T2 Vents
Highly recommend the micro-remote. Does 99% of what I need it to do and it weighs nothing on lanyard around your neck. I keep the original remote on the boat for the occasional setting adjustment.
Old non Bluetooth remotes were to float.
new Bluetooth remotes do not float.

They'll float... right to the bottom.
I wouldn't think it would take much to keep it afloat. Maybe a bigger bobber or a really good keychain float?
Older models float, I dropped mine once or twice in the water.
I had mine sitting on my bow graph. Then I looked down and realized next step will be at the bottom of the lake. Put in glove box and bought the mini.

I put one of those key chain floats on my lanyard
Maybe an opportunity for Onyx or Mustang to design a little water-activated life jacket for them.
I don't know if they float but I had mine around my neck when I went in and it might have saved me , was able to hang onto PP and troll to shallow water , this was winter time . So I'm just saying water does not instantly kill them .
Last year I snagged something on a deep diving crankbait. It turned out to be iPilot remote, same as I used on my boat. It had been in the water for a little while as it had some moss starting to grow on it. I took it home and completely disassembled and cleaned it out with soap and water and electrical contact cleaner. After drying it out and putting in batteries, it came on much to my surprise. I linked it to my trolling motor and used it for my next few trips to test it out and after that used it interchangeably with my original remote. However, it did finally give out on me when I tried to use it last week. A piece of the plastic housing in the battery compartment broke and it won't stay on but I haven't had time to troubleshoot it. The only way I could tell it was the one I fished out of the water is because there were still some remnants of moss in the bottom of the recessed screw holes on the back cover.
That is a cool story!!! Wish you had been on our boat to fish mine up tonight!!
Would a larger cull tag work? Just a thought.

I've been thinking about one of those. I misplaced the charging cord and they're about 30 bucks. I was thinking that I could get the mini remote and hopefully the charging cord is the same for both. The big one is like having a ball & chain around the neck.
Tell me; what type of battery is in the mini remote?
Don't worry Ma'am....
I'm only here for the Bass.
There is no charging cord for the mini remote. It uses a button battery. CR2450 I think. My battery has lasted two seasons so far (in NH, so a season = 6 months max). I use it all day long, even when I'm standing right next to the pedal.
