Can I get some help guys I have a 2015 triton 21 trx with a 250 pro xs and I’m only running about 65ish (2 people) I don’t have a ton of weight in it I’d say medium tackle and gear and poles. I’ve been running a 25p fury prop averaging 64-65and usually topping at 66-67. About 2 months ago it somehow ran 71 all day long and since then nowhere close. I put a 27p tempest and topped at 64. Any help or suggestions for speed? Thanks

Just purchased a mint 2004 TR21X with a brand new 250 2018 ProXS 2 stroke...have no idea how fast it is yet. I've got one trip under my belt and it's F'n scarry fast. Gonna be a fun fall learning.

Now he has played with it a lot, props sent to Mark Croxton several times but he has it right.
. Have your buddy send me a PM, would like to know his set-up and prop..

Don't feel bad. I also have a TR196 and have the same issues. Tweaking my setup (prop to pad settings) helped bring it to the point where it was "drivable", but it's still a challenge. Same as yours, when it hits the low to mid 60's, things get hairy.

My 01 TR 19 gets hairy about 65. Sometimes I will fight thru sometimes I don't feel like dealing with it and slow down. With my old 01 Merc 200 EFI I have broke 70 solo when weather and water cooler. I never have had it propped right. Either decent hole shot that robs top end or visa versa. I am sure that IF I repower to the new 4s 200 Merc both will be alot better. Not sure what I plan to do...repower or sell it.

Previous hulls only rated for 225. For 21 footers the 04-06 X series as stated above.

Last year I found a 2008 20xhp in great condition. It runs 75-76 fully loaded 2 men full of gas. Have seen 80 solo. It handles big water well an runs really fast through turns. Everyone that rides with me says it's the best hull they have ridden in.
Actually, the 1999 TX21 (Intracoastal model) was rated for a 250. I had one and put a 250 ProXS on it in 2007. I had 5.5" CMC hydraulic jackplate and really needed the 8", but fully loaded 50+gallons of gas, full livewells, 2 guys (220lbs and 260lbs). 77mph with a stock 27" Trophy prop.

    SO FAR...my 04 TR21X, 10" hydraulic Bob's plate with 08 250 HPDI with 1.81 OX66 lower unit....<<<1.81 no cone.
Yamaha 29T1 74mph....smooth, no chine, somewhere around 1.5" to 2" below the pad.
Yamaha 27T1 72, same as above.
Croxton RAZOR4 27 pitch 73 so far (wife in boat too, saying slow down! LOL), haven't had a chance to play with it. This prop can come up to 1" below the pad or higher. Handles WAY better in the rough and turns.

    Had a 2002 TR-21, 250 Yamaha OX66, 27P Tempest would run 82 with just me and half a tank. After that was a 2013 21HP, 250 ProXS, 26P Fury would run 78. Now my new to me 2016 21TRX, 250 ProXS, 25P Tempest will run 71, but I think I'm under propped.
