Opinions: GT30 vs GT34 Worth Running Both?

I currently own both transducers. I am planning to run the GT30 and selling off the 34. Just wondering if you folks think the gain in shallow water performance of the 34 is worth running both. Plugging in the 34 when fishing shallower lakes or when I plan on targeting only the shallows. When fishing deeper plugging in and using the 30.

Some guys run both when they have units networked.
You can chose between the two on the network.
I like my 34, I just accept it has its limits on range and depth.
Rarely am I catching fish deeper than 30ft on my Lakes.

I personally did not like the 34....now the clear vu was great but side not so much. I ended up selling and getting the Gt30. But hey, if you have a plan to use both, why not keep it and have best of both worlds.....just my thoughts.

Since you already have both transducers, I agree with above, install and use both. I have both the 30 and 34 installed and use them just as you suggest.

Do you have any pics? I’ve recently just purchased the GT34 but still have the GT30...so far my biggest complaint is no range past 55ft

the GT34 is designed to be run with UHD..the GT30 is not. how are you comparing these 2 transducers knowing one is UHD and the other isn't? i'm curious because i just switched my 30 for 34 and added the GCV20 black box. i haven't tested it just yet.

If you are implying a UHD unit, the head unit does not have to be UHD. Having the GCV20 will give you the UHD frequencies. The GT30 will give you more range on view while the GT34 will not.

Here is a quick short video RMP done with the comparison.

The biggest trade off with these two transducers is water depth. The GT34 is a strong performer, but only out to depths of 25 feet or so (at least with SideVu). Deeper than this and the SideVu begins to fade out. With the GT30, you give up a little detail in shallow water, but yet still have functional SideVu in much deeper depths.
