    Slow mega 360

Finally got my mega 360 and installed it and found that it doesn’t seem to be working properly. Has a very slow sweep speed. Takes forever to make a full sweep between 30-45 seconds. Noticed that the head also moves incrementally instead of being smooth like I would think it should work. Is this something in the unit or issue with my install? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

That is the way it works. Nothing wrong with it.

Not knowing what your setup is and how it is configured, I suggest making sure your transducers are wet.

Ok so my since of time is off. Full 2 minutes to make a full 360 sweep line start on the left side and make full 360 back to same spot. Solix 12 G2. Tried to upload video but not great service on the water.

do you notice any difference in sweep speed from 1 to 6. time/rotation wise, or are all setting the same

Mine did the same exact thing when I first powered it on. I can't remember how I fixed it but I either shut down and restarted or restored defaults to fix it and never had an issue again.

Make sure you’re on the Mega 360 transducer and not the HW Mega 360 transducer. Mine was super slow until I put it on the correct ducuer.

HW stands for High Wide CHIRP 2D Sonar if you are using a Y cable with the MEGA 360. There are other choices depending on what other transducer is connected via Y cable. My setting is HW/MDI+/MEGA 360.

Your setting should be the default MEGA 360.

thank you! I will be running mega 360 directly to my Helix 10 MDI GN3. I have a transducer for my other bow unit which is a Helix 9 SI GN2. I will not be using a y-cable.

Swapped 360 over to the other unit not sure why I didn’t think of that earlier. Worked perfect swapped back same issue. Reset
to factory defaults and then 360 worked fine on both units. Go figure
