You can use any unit with any troller.....when you start talking about linking a unit to "control" a troller then no, you would need to match the two together.

If you wanna do things like set the motor to follow a contour read from the finder, have to have a bird unit for Ultrex. For Ghost it would be a Carbon or higher unit. So for full capabilities you're buying a troller, but maybe also another $2k for the right finder.
