    2019 Z18 Jackplate setback size

    Hi all,

I've just recently purchased my new nitro along with with a couple of power poles. I'm looking to install the poles myself after I have a jackplate installed but I'm not sure what size setback I should get. Does anyone have any recommendations or a way to determine what size to use. I'm looking at a manual zlock or slidemaster.

    Thank you

6" is what the factory installs if you order it with one.

Yep, and anything over 6" on that boat is overkill.

Is there any sort of calculation to determine this or is it just by trial and error? If factory is doing 6" that's what I'll go with.

    Thanks for the help.

In most cases a “normal” heavier hulled boat may not see much increase in performance if any in more set back....the lighter hulled boats can benefit from additional set back. Example my 20’ Bullet runs 14” to 16”....it would not run the numbers with say 8” also you would need to higher PTP settings. Example my 20’er runs best at 1.5”s above.
