Wow that has alot of good info!.
I have a question about this
3.Class II
Veteran parent rated by USDVA as much as 20 percent but less than 100 percent disabled due to wartime service as defined in the law, or a statutory award for arrested pulmonary tuberculosis and currently or at time of death drawing compensation. 100 awarded per year. Duration of the scholarship is four academic years (8 semesters or 12 quarters) if used within 10 years.
Nature of scholarship:
Free tuition, a room allowance, a board allowance, and exemption from certain mandatory fees as set forth in the law in public, community and technical colleges/institutions.
$4,500 per nine month academic year in private colleges and junior colleges.
I'm 30% Disabled and A fulltime student at Fayetteville Technical College. I would love to go to a better school, But cant afford it. But with the hours I am at school and having the wife and daughter I dont have time to work. I wa slaid off 2 months ago. Can you direct me to where I can apply for this?
Thank you!
Rob
Rob,
Go and talk with your local VA Officer. He will give you the info you need.

Lots of good state benefits out there. Im in Texas.
I just got my free super combo hunting and fishing license for the year. Saves me roughly $65 a year for that.
Finally got the paperwork signed by the VA for disabled veterans license plates and registration. Takes my registration and renewal fees dow to $5.
The disabled veteran property tax exemptions have multiple levels based off of your rating. So, if you have received a higher rating since initially applying for the exemption, get tham a letter of your higher rating and you may get more off.
Maybe I shouldn't be doing this. If so pls let me know the way I should be doing this.
On another Vet Site (VBN) I created a list of all states veterans affairs departments. Rather than redoing for here, I am just posting the topic for there. If this is wrong, Pls let know and I will do it manually here.
I notice when I post on the military.com, all I get is the education portion. My list covers all actual state va sites (Wyoming just has a number) as well as Washington D.C. I also have a message further down in the topic that directs you to the Territories sites, which are just phone numbers/addresses except for Puerto Rico.
Anyway, here is the topic and if I am wrong to do it this way, I repeat, let me know and I will do it all over again for here if you want it. :)

good morning,
i don't know all that is available in texas, however, i do know about the following, homestead exemption(based on percentage of disability, 100% no property tax, 20%-20% discount, etc., 50 percent- 50% discount, etc.) i think dubyah did that when he was gov. he is good to vets.
the texas land bank, reasonable rates and terms for purchases over 10 ac., one of the best run in the world, i think they have a 99% grade...must be born in texas, unless they changed it..one of the oldest programs in texas...
every county must have a vet rep by law...
these are a few, i sure there are others, i can be incorrect on some...
however, texas has some great vet beneifits!!!!
good luck,

Exemption for 1 vehicle at dmv, free State and Federal park entrance. 7 dollars fishing license. Not sure about hunting 6 dollars or so. Free tuition to State University. On top of title 33 and 35 education benefits from VA.
