Anyone fished Kinkaid lake recently for muskie or bass??
Fishing is Good! We caught fish on spinnerbaits, traps and buzzbaits.
What area of the lake u fishing? by the dam or up the johnson creek? main lake points or have they started to move shallow?
Whole lake! Fish were shallow on Sunday & Monday. I bet that changes with this cold weather.
Please post all Kincaid reports here.
Please provide conditions & date. Type of baits would be nice but I don't expect you to give up your secrets!

April 29
Sunny, air temp 86, winds 5 - 10mph from the west
Water temp 66-68. Fish were on beds. Water was mucked up bad from the boat traffic. Spawners were very skittish. I feel these fish were hammered over the weekend from multiple tx's. I fished late so the sun was suboptimal for sight fishing. I will try a midmorning trip if I can sneak away.
Caught 2 keepers - both 4 lbs. Buzzbaits.

Enjoying life in Southern Illinois
fished kinkaid sun 5/18 water was in the low 70's. White spinner bait over the grass flats and bush hog and tube on weed edges. Boated 4 2 shorts, 1 chunky 1 1/2lb short and one 18" 2 1/2 lbs...very sunny..lot of boat traffic
Spent the last week on Kincaid. Fishing was great early but grew progressively worse as we approached the holiday weekend. Size dropped over the span as well. I observed bluegill or warmouth spawning and I have to wonder if they are aggressive enough to push the bass out of the shallows.
The only consistent pattern I found was senkos. One day was hot with white spinnerbaits, another with buzzbaits, another with prop baits and yet another with frogs. We averaged about 15 apiece each day.
Largest fish was @ 5 lbs.
By any chance what part of the lake were you fishing. And how clear is the water.
We fished all over the lake. Up Johnston's Creek the water was stained. Very clear down by the dam.
6-3-07
Sunny & windy 82 air temp.
water temp. 79
Bluegill are done! Bass are moving shallow. Caught @ 15 on poppers, frogs and spook style baits. 4 keepers.
Anyone have an updated report on Kincaid?

Very tough! I'm averaging 5-10 fish per outing. Mostly small. I'm having most of my success on Yamamoto cut-tail worms in Junebug early. I hear the night fishing is good.
