Which holes to put it in?

For those running a Merc Four stroke (mine a 250 on a 521r), there are 5 mounting holes to choose from. Can you select any of the 5?

The reason I ask is because I’m told to run my Prop To Pad at 2.5” and in order to do that I need to raise my Atlas almost to its max height (90 percent). My bolts are currently in the middle holes so in theory I could use the upper holes and allow me to lower the Jack plate so it’s not at such an extreme height?

You can but be sure your steering cylinder doesn’t hit the transom when you raise motor for trailering. May need to remember to raise plate up first.
