    Mega 360 or Garmin Perspective?

Already have LVS34 in forward, would you go Mega 360 or LVS34 in perspective as an additional install?

Mega 360. I tried an AT2 in scout mode to see if I would like it enough to remove my 360 and it didn’t happen. Being able to see structure and schools of fish 10-120ft out, 360 deg around the boat all the time is a lot more beneficial. Depending on the depth of water you’re fishing from shallow to deep the perspective transducer angle would need to be adjusted for different depth to get max usage of it. Using mega 360 and FFS is a great combo.

I can see that being effective. How far out do you run the 360 typically?

I mostly keep it at 80ft and sometimes will bump it to 120 and still have good results. I keep my FFS under 100 all the time.

Perspective is very impressive - surprised how close it is to 360 as far as image quality. However one thing I’m still playing with it crosstalk with two LVS 34s so in that regard if running both 360 may be better, or a 34 and 62.

A person can’t compare AT scout to 34 perspective, the 34 blows the AT away. In forward, they are fairly close, although the 34 is still better.

If you’re on the move constantly, I can’t see Mega 360 working very well.

if you are looking for grasslines, ledges, structure, stuff like that especially more shallow, M360 seems to be the more popular choice traditionally. AT's Scout mode is pretty weak, LVS-34 is better but still not as nice as M360 view of course. But, seeing those fish swimming around on Cory's LVS Perspective view last week at SJR was pretty awesome too :). So much so that I have re-adjusted my 360/LVS mounting setup to allow room to flip the 34 to perspective mode by raising up the M360 a bit more.

I had 360 and went with a 34 for forward and 32 for perspective. Prefer prospective as I can see what is happening instead of what happened. Also see structure fine in perspective.

In other words, you have no idea about Mega 360.

I run M360, LVS-34 and Mega Live all at the same time. I'll flip Mega LIVE between forward and landscape mode because HB made a mount that makes it easy to do so.

Perspective/landscape mode is decent in 8 ft or less water and you're not trying to see more than 40-50ft out. Mega 360 is very useful up to 20-25 ft deep and will easily let you know what's 80-120 ft out all the way around the boat. M360 is also much better at identifying what's down there than perspective/landscape mode.

Does mega 360 work when constantly moving on the trolling motor? Say you’re on settings 2-4 on the tm, you get a good image with the 360?

From what I've seen the 360 is very good while moving. If you're moving really fast it might take some tweaking to find the right sweep speed, but the image is usually very good. From what I've seen any FFS in landscape mode looks pretty good if you're anchored or moving very slowly, but if you're moving quickly down a bank it gets distorted pretty quickly.

As mentioned, I've found M360 works well with pretty much an speed attainable by a TM. Now, if you are running a bank on 10 yeah you will probably want to increase the sweep speed.

Easily at those low speeds. Pump it up to 7+ and you'll need to do some interpreting but it's no different that side scanning SI at higher speeds. You can also narrow the sweep zone so you can get more "rotations" in the same amount of time as a full 360 rotation.

Find stuff with 360, fish stuff with FFS.

Cool deal, I would have thought the refresh time couldn’t have kept up. Sounds like it and ffs would be the ultimate combo.

I also find that setting up my alignment with the 360 before entering the area that I'm fishing is important. I like being able to see my waypoints on my 360 image. I'm spider rigging for crappie this time of year, so my speed is slow, which is why this works for me. I've had the 360 for about 3 years while this is my first year with Livescope, and I've learned a lot this crappie spawn with the combo. I really don't look at 2D, DI, or SI at the bow anymore.

That's a nice picture. With a bottom composition like that another difference is you'd likely see those beds with 60-70-80 ft away with 360, not 30-35.

Find the stuff with 360, fish the stuff with FFS.
