Exclamation 8612s and a GPS 24xd Receiver and Antenna

Can’t find much on this, looking for an installers input. Will be rigging a Puma STS with two 8612s on the console and two NBT Destroyers on the bow with a LVS-34 with everything on BBT mounts. Is it truly needed for the 8612s to have the 24XD installed in the boat if the 8612s aren’t flush mounted in the console? I’m assuming it’s overkill for the system, my understanding is it’s more designed for graphs that don’t have true line of sight to the sky and being obstructed by fiberglass or T-Tops. Thoughts?

    thanks all,

It has a heading sensor also....so if you fish offshore and things of that nature yes it worth it. If you don't want it the you can just get the heading sensor by itself....
