    21 TRX

Anyone running one with a 2504s Merc? If so how do you like it? How is the ride and deck space. I’ve seen a few for a decent price, but would like some opinions before I go looking too hard at one.

I would go with a 20 TRX or the newer 20XP if you are limited to a 250 hp. They perform much better with a 250 hp than the bigger 21 footers do and they fish better than the older 21 footers, the 21 TRX really does best with a 300.

Id rather have the extra deck space. I’m not in it for speed, so a 21 is probably what I’m looking at.

What boat do you have now? The 20 TRX and XP has great front deck space. As much or room than many 21 footers especially older ones, If you were on one and someone told you it was a 21 footer you would believe it.

I’m not interested in the 20… just not. I want the most deck space (both length and width) but also a boat that rides good. I don’t care about speed or handling like a sports car.. Nothing wrong with the 20, but it’s not what I’m looking for.

Sounds like a Ranger would be a perfect fit for you then, or even a 21 foot Nitro.

I have a 2020 21TRX with a 250 4S. So far I have been satisfied with the boat. Came out of a 20TRX and I will say I prefer the 21. There is only 7” difference in total length, however the front deck is longer on the 21 and the rear deck is 6” shorter on the 21. But the cockpit length in the 21 is 6” longer that then 20. I prefer the ability to have more space in the cockpit area, especially when co-anglers throw there tackle bag on the floor and for those who have longer legs. As far as the ride is concerned, I don’t think there is much difference but regardless I’ve been very happy with it while fishing on Lake Champlain very often. My only complaint about the boat is that the holeshot is sluggish to me and it is definitely a weight sensitive boat. Once I add a second person the performance is noticeably worse. Topend speed is about 72-74 by myself and 67-70 with a load.

I actually don’t think the 20TRX is any faster than the 21TRX. Now the XP models are faster

Yes the 20 TRX is faster, and the 20XP even more so.

Something must’ve changed. The 21 TrX used to be faster than 20 TrX. The XP is faster than either.

having owned both.. the 20TRX is more “sporty” to drive. Much better holeshot, midrange and handling. But as far as top-end speed, I’ve seen higher speeds out of the 21TRX when lightly loaded.

Look for an aircraft carrier for deck space..only 3 acres in size but will need a custom tm for it..but guarantee never will need to recharge the power ever.

No lol. I have always read that the 20 and 21Trx were always about the same speed wise. Just because the 20 is shorter doesn’t mean it’s faster.

I’ve owned three 21 TrX, one 20 TrX and now a 20XP. The XP is better in every way. The 21 TrX was a fast hull before they changed the layup process for the front of the boat. After the change it just became harder to get speed and lift due to increased nose weight. With the XP lift and speed come easily with just a stock fury 3 blade. No trim extenders needed. The trolling motor also sits level on the xp so no wedge needed.
