    Thumbs Up Dixie Marine

my new 2022 ranger has been nothing but a mess since new, BUT through it all, the guys at Dixie marine have taken great care of me and put up with all my ocd tendencies and minor meltdowns about my boat and the condition it arrived in!! Rudy, Mark , and Mike have been great to deal with and Jim the gel repair guy does great work. Although my ranger leaves me with lots of doubts so far about WRMG,

Curious what issues you have had with your new ranger?

Did they point out the flaws or did you have to? Just curious as to the process of them taking delivery of a boat that has issues.

I just found this … speaks volumes about Dixie Marine but also says how $hitty the workmanship was at the Ranger plant. Sure not like my new Ranger I received from them in 2002. I’m not sure the reimbursement rate for the dealers labor … hopefully it’s substantial. What happened to QC?

For every Ranger currently delivered with cosmetic or other issues, 20 are built perfectly or near perfectly. With respect to the OP, the selling dealer has a large responsibility for spotting and taking care of any problems before the customer ever sees the boat. Would we like manufactured item to be flawless every time? Of course we would. But we pay our money to the dealer, who receives a substantial profit AND a substantial shop rate for any work they have to do under warranty. On social media, we read about 10 problems to every 1 satisfied customer, but the satisfied Ranger customers far outnumber the dissatisfied. That’s just social media for us.

Yes, the dealer should inspect the boat. However, the factory should not have let that boat leave. Someone should’ve looked it over and done the repairs before it left. The crew responsible for the work should have been notified of the issues and then monitored for future quality control to keep a look out for bad apples. No offense, but they are not building boats in volumes so large that each and every boat can not go through a real final review.

I'm pretty sure Dixie doesn't bother inspecting their Rangers before delivery. My rt had a half dozen problems that needed fixing. Instead of driving 4 hrs I took care of them myself.

rub rail issues.jpgfirst repair.jpgholes from rub rail repair.jpg

factory messed up rub rail, dealer "fixed" it but ran screws wrong-- now 2 new holes in hull??? another 4 hr round trip and fuel 240 miles of fuel to burn.
bet i have driven 1500 miles just back and forth to dixie for repairs
