    21xrs setback

I’m running 12” atlas with 250 merc 4 stroke I was talking to another member the other day and he suggested going with 16” of setback I’ve been trying to contact th marine and see if they offered a 4” spacer/set back bracket but I cannot get anyone to return my calls. Bobs offers the set back plates but not sure if they will work with the atlas Anyone ever used the bobs with atlas hydro plate? Or has any of yall got the additional set back plates from th marine?

I would call hydrodynamics & get a setback plate from them. hydrodynamics-usa.com. I’ve ran them in combo with an atlas on two different Bullets. I’ve been running 16” setback on my 21SDC from day one for 7 yrs now.

You would be better off either going with a Bobs unit or a static HydroDynamics. The Atlas will fall apart after that much setback in due time.

I run a 10" fixed hydro dynamics with a 6" sea star. I had an atlas and it wouldn't move under power most of the time. Definitely pleased with the new setup.

I didnt have any trouble with either of my 6” atlas’s mounted to the back of an 8” hydrodynamics static plate, the latter with 2” spacers but i did switch to an 8” seastsar Xtreme hydraulic after I got my 300R V8.

Not answering the post you are questioning but I ran my SDC for 3 years with a 300XS on an 8” hydrodynamics static & 6” atlas & 2” spacers=16” then a year with a 300R setup the same. 8” static against the boat, then 6” atlas then 2” spacers. Never had any problems like this.

Best setback rule is 1 inch per foot of boat. Straight edge on back of jackplate to bottom of hull.

I would get rid of the atlas and get a seastar hydraulic plate and a hydrodynamics static plate. The atlas has way too much flex for a performance boat imo

Measure to bottom of hull or to pad from back of JP?
