My new Honda xr150L manual says unleaded gas only. Big problem? No source for unleaded within reasonable distance. Any suggestions for acceptable substitution?

It should be fine with regular 87 octane from any gas station. All gas now is unleaded. I am sure they don't mean ethenol free.
It's best to run higher octane pump gas and look for ethanol free if possible. If not run a good additive to keep the fuel lines and carb gaskets from rotting. Also change the plug out for a NGK iridium one, it'll run better and start easier.
Thanks, guys! I was confused between ethanol free and unleaded. I keep good additives for my Optimax, so should be good to go!!!
Where do you live at? They haven't sold leaded gasoline at the pumps around here for 40 years.
As I said above, I was confusing unleaded with ethanol-free. Give an old person some slack here….![]()
Lea just run 87 or 89 ethanol fuel unless you are putting it up for winter. In that case drain the fuel and put some Trufuel in it and run it for a few miles then park it. I use 50/1 Trufuel just to help get some oil on the valves.

Thanks!!!
Might check https://www.pure-gas.org/ , [the Shell station lady just told me that they have 89 non-ethanol]
I've only used non-ethanol in my 175 EFI with Mercury preservatives since new (1997), due to boat sits around a lot. Usually 87 but sometimes 89.
Cub Cadet gets ethanol for mowing season (grass just won't die); and non-ethanol for winter storage.

I would run the highest octane you can get.
Around here thats 93.
All my 2 stroke stuff gets 93 even my weed eater.![]()
