    Best prop for Yamaha

Anyone have best recommendations for prop for a 21phx with a Yamaha sho. Have tried a 25 bravo xs. Was better than the stock Yamaha 25 3 blade. Still not getting the top end I think I should.

That number is better than anything I’m seeing. Were you flashed?

A T-2 or a Tempest that’s been balanced and blueprinted is hard to beat with the SHO

I would flash that motor and stay with the SHO 3 blade.

The sho 3 blade was 65 mph before flash. Haven’t ran after. The bravo was 70 before flash and 71 after. Feel like it could spin a bigger one maybe. The bravo felt better overall before flash by far. The t-2 was a dog.

A 25 t2 with some cup added to the tips will most likely be the fastest depending on your setup.
If you're running lithiums and/or 3 graphs up front a 3 blade probably won't have enough bite to lift the extra bow weight with the loss of leverage from lithiums even if it is worked.
A bravo would most likely be the fastest then because it's the only thing with enough bite to lift the bow. A 26 or 27 would probably be what you need since you're flashed. For reference I run a 27 on my 721 with a stock Sho.
A fury 4 might be close to the bravo since it's a stern lifting prop. It'll lift the whole hull up out of the water.

How much stuff do you have on the bow and do you have lithium batteries in the rear? That boat should run high 70s at least with a flashed SHO on it.

2 12” garmins and a garmin trolling motor on bow. 4 lithiums and a x2 cranking battery. 12” bobs hydro. Duel blades. Turning over 6200 with the 25 bravo. That’s with 2 guys loaded. Haven’t figured out sweet spot for jackplate yet. Too low and it gets squirrelly on top end.

6200 RPM with a 25P prop only going 71 MPH means you have quite a bit of prop slip, about 15% which isn't good, if you can get down below 10 percent It will do much better.

Bravos run light on pitch to start with and the odd numbers are "odd". All the odd numbers are actually an even with some added cup. So his 25 is actually a 24 with added cup so figuring out the true pitch of the prop to enter in a slip calculator is difficult.

For the op, if you can trade or borrow a 27 bravo I think that will be your best all around being flashed. A 25 or 26 fury 4 would also be a good one to try out.

If you can't trade or borrow, I'd recommend giving Mark Croxton or Ronnie Gilbert a shout to get their opinion to make sure you don't wind up dropping coin on one that won't work.

Have you tried it flashed with the Yamaha prop? Those props give you good lift and you should be able to turn it 6000-6200 RPM and get 75 at least out of it. If not you have to change your setup some way, either move weight around, adjust the motor height and make sure you don’t have any transducers disturbing the water in front of the prop. Right now your Phoenix is acting like a Ranger.

My last 21phx had a Verado (flashed). 72 all day with 2 people. 25 fury. This one is basically set up the same minus the speed. I plan to try the sho prop today.

SHOs typically run 4-5 MPH faster than a Verado.

Sho run. 59-6 rpm. 2 people. 3/4 tank fuel. All gear. 70.2 mph. Bobs jackplate sitting at 2 dots over 3 on the guage. Seemed to be best so far. any other suggestions keep them coming.

Update. Lowered jackplate to 2 and the boat all of a sudden lifted. Got it to 71. Guess my plate was too high.

24 or 25 Fury 4 blade was what mine liked best - would get low 70s stock and 74-75 flashed.
