I purchased this buffer:

The sticky talks about the 3M pads. Can I use the pads included in the buffer or should I purchase new pads?

not sure if you're talking about the backing pad or buffing pads. Either way the 3m is a better product. Lakewood makes good pads too. If you plan on restoring or cutting oxidation buy some mirka polarshine 45 for your compound and 10 for your polishing and follow up with good wax. Best products on the market.
The pads you have will work fine probably but I have no experience with them. The best pads on the market are Lakewood. CCS if your on a budget. The main issue is if you're only going to have one of each pad you have to be very diligent about cleaning your pad often, especially in the cutting / polishing . The gel coat, compound / polish will clog up your pads if you don't.
How do you clean your pads?
Never liked the foam pads, we always used a 7" rotary with wool pads, boat or boat molds. I was the only way to go.
