    1998 Mercury 225 HP EFI alternator belt discontinued?

    I’m getting my alternator rebuilt and was looking to replace my work out alternator belt. My local marinas are telling me the part number is discontinued? 57-49756Q 1 V Belt. Can anyone tell me if this is the case or if there is a replacement belt number?? 1998 Mercury 225 EFI S/N 0G679798. Anyone run into this issue? Or is it just up here in Canada? Thanks.

    <SEE ANNOUNCEMENTS>

    It's in another warehouse, so it's probably going to take about two to three weeks to get the belt (that was my experience about 1.5 months ago).

    Hope this helps.

    No Longer Available from Mercury Marine.

    Probably would need to source an aftermarket/industrial type belt (even the big-chain belt supplier's "cogged" belts didn't seem to hold up here).

    I have exact same engine. I replaced my belt a couple years ago cause the pulley had pitted and burned it off. Pretty sure I ended up getting mine from a local parts store by cross referencing.
