Prop suggestion for 2021 Ranger Z519

I’m running a 23 fury on my 225 pro xs. Boat is a Ranger z519 with no jackplate. Current rpm at wot is 5620 and I’m getting 67 tops. Running in Florida heat so I know that don’t help. Curious if I would get any gains with a 23 Tempest plus.

That’s fast for that little RPMs? I can get 68 but I’m running 5850 lightly loaded quarter tank of fuel. I would love to try at Tempest but I did order a razor XL last week.

Does it have enough bow lift? Pitch to pitch my guess would be like 150rpm unless it can use more bow lift then it would pick up a little more speed and rpm I would think

Certainly could use more bow lift. When I trim it up with the fury I get more lift and more rpm’s but lose speed.

a tempest will carry the bow but a bravo1 based prop might be best. when mine arrives I will try it out and post back. bigger throttle body would also help greatly I hear

24 tempest gave me more bow lift and I got the rpm’s up to 5780. Prop was a little over a 1mph slower. Started losing top end when trimming it up. I think I’ll stick with the 23 fury. Mactlman, let me know how that bravo works out. Thinking I may just get a jackplate to get the p2p higher.

You might think about just adding a little cup to the blades of your fury will cause the prop to bite better and get your nose up improving your rpms

Thanks, I may buy another fury 23 and do just that. I’ll keep the other as a spare.

Yes a Tempest will give you more bow lift generally, but what you are getting out of it now is not bad. There isn't a whole lot of room for improvement other than getting your RPMs up where they need to be. You can try a 22p Fury also.

3 below to 3.5 fury like to run deeper than most others-- my new razor xlr is a beast. holeshot and mid range fast. boat gets very light at 69-70 and feels unsafe but only had it out once to test speeds

My 519 felt the same way when I tried a fury 4. The 4 blade props usually have a little more stern lift. I had to raise the jackplate a little to sit it back down

I usually run seven or eight I went up to a 12 on the atlas that it was still kind of Squirrley, but it didn’t have a lot of fuel either

My 12 Z519 runs 70’s with a Tempest plus 25 and 66/68 with a Croxton razor 4 24. The lighter Fury should spin faster than a Tempest so I can’t believe it will improve your numbers. I have an 8” Atlas and it allows me to tweak an extra mile or two per hour. I would spend my money on other toys before spending money on more props that can’t be optimized without a plate.

something not right here, 4 percent prop slip not possible for that boat. RPM with digital tach or smartcraft, Speed with GPS.
22 Fury or 23 tempest will be close with proper setup
    Thank You Leon Pugh

4 percent prop slip is certainly possible, Furys run stiff anyway.

Not on a ranger, some light weight boats with optimum set up can achieve that, though very few do

Always love the post where their Ranger runs upper 70s at 0% slip —like that’s ever possible on any hull !!

Probably going to get a jackplate. Can’t imagine a 22 fury helping me much over the 23 fury. Don’t have the luxury of trying different props without buying them. 24 tempest was not terrible. Curious if a 23 tempest would get my speed up. I’m sure others that are getting 69-70 are benefiting from the jackplate .
