Is there a way to stop a Garmin from switching to what i think is night mode? Seems like it shows a lot more in the water at night when it switches automatically.

I believe you can press the power button, top right corner of the screen should show you the option for the day/night mode. Just turn it off. It's right under the brightness setting if I remember correctly.

Push power button. There you'll see up/down & night mode etc. Set it where you want it.
