I can’t believe they don’t have more umbrella than that, I have personally 5 mil. plus 1 mil. They would be way underinsured based on their liability exposure.

There is a school of thought by some that if you have too high a limits on an Umbrella that you are giving plaintiff attorneys even more incentive to go after you. A reasonable limit is enough to protect most of your assets but you generally don’t need to go above that.

You need to check the fine print. Some umbrellas have hp limits for boats that are pretty low.

Unfortunately, tournaments may be nearing the end of their useful lives/existence. I have fished hundreds of speckled trout and bass tournaments, as a disclaimer to my comments. I, personally, hope they dissolve. These days there is just too much pressure on our fish, in Texas anyway. The lakes and bays are crowded M-Sunday now. You can fish the most remote places of lakes/bays, and still listen to boat motors roaring and music, it's a non-stop parade of traffic. The older I get, I can't believe we pull bedding fish for a weigh in miles away, much less the fish protecting the fry balls. Those fry are eaten probably within minutes after their protector is placed in a live well. Then you have all the development around the lake. I can't see why a single lake landowner would want tournaments on the lake they live on, and pay exorbitant taxes on. More tournaments mean more litter, more noise, more congestion and less fish to catch. Now we are started to see more accidents, some life ending events. Along w/my zx250, I have a l&b boca that runs mid 80's. It's not even one of the faster boats anymore, as many are running escb's with 450/500's that run in the 90's/100's. Very little 'walking away' opportunity with a mistake/mis-judgement.

in a few short years, we will sell our house and hunting properties and consolidate on a lake somewhere. I can only hope B.A.S.S. and all the others don't put that lake on the schedule.

Here is a video shot from another anglers boat.....clearly see the striper boat. No fog or any visible obstacles. My opinion, and mine only, he is looking at negligent homicide x 3. Plus there are 2 survivors in the striper boat that will be able to tell their side of the story. To me, doesn't look like the striper boat was in a dangerous spot, or obscure in a blind spot.
