No truck or boat payment. She has no car payment. But the money doesn’t build up.
The inflation over the past 3 years has been brutal. All the prices went up our purchasing power went down. It is affecting everyone.

Interesting topic for me at this point. My salary is greater than I would have thought I could make for someone with just a high school diploma. Currently not satisfied with my job and interviewed for another. The decision in the end if I am offered said job, can I take a 10,000 dollar a year pay cut for a chance to be happier? Being 60 yrs old there will be no time to make up the difference. But either salary is a good living for my simple life style.

that is a tough call, especially if you think you’d retire in 5 or so years.. money can’t buy happiness but it sure can help ease the stress. 10k isn’t anything to scoff at for sure..

I’m starting a new job Thursday. It’s nearly a 3k paycut starting with harder to advance or get promoted and no ownership opportunities that I would currently have at my company. The trade off is less stress, 17 more days off a year, better insurance and cheaper family insurance, more flexibility, 60% pension in 30 years, still great pay for my age, and more home time.

Came down to, do I want money or do I want less stress and more home time while still making a good living? It was an easy choice. With our daughter who just turned 4months old I’d rather have less stress and more home time. But again I’m just entering a different phase of life, if I was near retirement I’m not sure what I’d be taking.

Good money? Once it dries the ink doesn't smudge off.

Actually ink never fully cures on money. That’s why your hands get dirty when handling alot of it.

Good money is what a particular person is happy with.

Yep. By most peoples answers to this thread I make "good" money. I have a co worker who makes the same amount I do. He's riddled with debt, and spends every penny he can get his hands on. He struggles, even though, by most peoples definitions he makes "good" money.

My Grandfather said the different between rich and poor isn't how much you make, it's how much you spend.

Mrs B and myself have been debt free since 2011.
