That was a heck of a finish for sure, and BPT format and knowing who won in a live event is the only way to do it. The days of weigh ins are behind us, time to pivot BASS. Way to go BPT and congrats to Jake Lawrence he never gave up!

Im a big time BASS fan. And ill be honest I've done my fair share of MLF bashing over the years. But this format when it's a close finish is top notch. I found myself throwing my hands in the air and cheering for Lawrence when he flipped that last fish with 20 seconds to go. How can you top that?
Dang what an epic finish. Amazing how fast BASS and MLF have flipped in terms of which organization produces the best product. Until this year I would have never guessed MLF could be crushing it this good. I sure hope BASS is watching because at the end of the day I've always been a BASS man, but until things change over there, BPT and NPFL are the most enjoyable and entertaining events to follow.

I would love to know what that last fish wheeler had on weighed, and if he would have landed it in time gave him the win. Still may not have as that was a tank Jake caught.

Their format isn't perfect, but man it's hard to beat finishes like that.

Missed opportunity for sure by the broadcast… They didn’t share if he landed that fish. If it was close (it wasn’t 5lb but looked 3+) and his overall reaction. That was a missed opportunity. But - sorta similar to losing a game in any other sport and looking for an instant reaction and comment - can be a tough spot and doesn’t usually go well.
When it’s your time, it’s your time. Both fished a great final day.

Really would have loved to see that reaction as he figured out what went down… seriously MLF missed that chance to capture the moment in the broadcast. Was sitting on pins and needles to see that moment. Nothing against Wheeler… dudes a monster, but that needed to be shown. Could happen on his own YouTube video of it? I’m sure the folks behind the desk at MLF were probably too jacked to be thinking clearly… that was seriously crazy stuff. Proud for Jake… dudes taken a good bit of my money here.. and he’s a great kid. was really pulling for him.
