It's hard to pee when you have a boner.

This is honestly how I feel ^. I kinda think it's funny that people are on here banging their chests about how their freedom is being taken away, but then they are proud of stuff like this. It seems like a form of invasion of privacy. If i had to chose whether to work with a stoner or a drunk i would chose the stoner every time. </td></tr></table> Me too. Never had a problem working with a pot head, but an alcoholic can be very moody, irritable & lazy as h*ll when they have a hangover. I do like me some Beam though & have smoked plenty of pot so I do have experience in forming my humble opinion.

Where I work they used to test everyone at date of hire and a random draw twice per year.
Then it got to where they could not hire to fill the amount of people they fired.
Now its down to if someone gets hurt.

    Unbelievable how common it is.

The company I work for constantly does random, but when you hire on or if you have an accident or get hurt regardless of who is at fault your going to take one too.

    Re: Piss tests (assfault)

Boner...no problem they will wait, same for stage fright...they will wait. They WILL see you piss in the cup and then you both sign the paperwork. Random can be once every two years or twice in one week. You never know.

This is what your military has to do to serve their country.

The person sitting behind the desk writing a report has to do this. Why do you think the same government that says THEIR EMPLOYEES are treated like this would treat ANY OTHER entity that gets government funding in any way any different???

If I am convicted of a felony I run the risk of losing 20 years benefits.

We are talking millions that make it possible for us to have this discussion. This is the standard we are held too and it has nothing to do with a bunch of lawyers.....strike that I guess our "leadership" is pretty much a bunch of lawyers.

I'll run you over the day they legalize MJ if you stand in front of the truck LOL. . Until then if you don't want tested start your own company and don't take any government funding because they are going to force a "drug free workforce" on you.

That is how the Army does it One of the best things about selling out the NCO corp and becoming an officer was I no longer had to watch people pee. We did play a joke on one of the new NCO's when he told my driver who was a PFC to provide a "sample". The 1SG and I filled the cup half full with some off white colored hand soap from the latrine. You should of seen the look on my young sergeants face when he tried to check in that sample

We give them at random every 6 months. I own a medical clinic so I take the guys that work at my machine shop their myself. If they fail they are given a choice rehab or the highway.

    Re: (advmt)

We have a testing policy that has testing on :
    -new hire
    -random
-post collision if anyone was transported by EMS
-suspicion (we have yet to do this - you' better be REAL sure)

We do a 5 panel test, plus the controlled substances we carry, and alcohol. For our randomization, we test the number of employee / times a year. Meaning if we have 400 employees, we do 400 random tests a year. So we do about 35 a month. In 2 years I've been tested once.

    Re: (TNT)

I own a construction company that works on DOT projects. Every new hire must be tested, anyone involved in an accident has to be tested. All employees must attend a 1 hour drug and alcohol training. All employees are subject to random testing, and a minimum percentage of employees must be tested each year. The good part is, I had to hire a consultant to randomly pick employee names for the test because it eliminates any suspected bias on my part.

I think it's fair that an employer test me that I am not breaking any Federal laws nor putting others at risk.

    Re: (200xp)

i have taken hundreds cause i work in power plants including nuclear. its definitely an invasion of privacy and it sucks cause its always right when you have just peed that you get called to go pee again. but u gotta do it.
as for the drug tests helping, i think its comical. the guys at the plants (including nuclear) had ways around passing it (whizzinator, going to specific docs to get what they need, using designer drugs and legal marijuana alternatives, etc). drug tests are a waste of time and money in my opinion. i have seen people pass that didnt have enough sense to wipe their azz, but they never failed a drug test. and i have seen great employees fail a drug test cause they had a high school reunion and took one hit from a joint when they were drunk and lost their job over it. seems like the best employees should be the best employees. but thats why im not in charge.
