Heck down in AL, we are required to keep any bass under 14 inches to meet the harvest quota for the year, even if we just chuck them in the woods for the eagles, they don't go back in the lake.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Yea, so, thats pretty much the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

in small impoundments, you have to harvest bass to prevent them from crowding up the pond and to allow the big ones to get bigger. It's not stupid if you want to grow trophies

Its not the best idea to waste fish either. Why dont you eat them instead of chucking them.

or you could ask them for tips? Heck down in AL, we are required to keep any bass under 14 inches to meet the harvest quota for the year, even if we just chuck them in the woods for the eagles, they don't go back in the lake.</TD></TR></TABLE>

That's the first I've ever heard of that. Sounds like a "fish" story to me.

I'm talking about the Auburn University Research ponds. The professors manage them and if we want to fish em, we gotta do what they say. A couple are managed for large bass (5-12lbs), and to grow them that big, you gotta take out the small ones

So what is going to happen when you take out almost ALL of the small fish and leave only the big fish? Yea they might be big for awhile but what happens when all those fish start dying off? Seems to me that there wouldn't be many bass left to catch, period.

My name is Jamie and YES I am a Filet-A-Holic...

The last time I fileted was last night. It was a 2 pounder and a 3 pounder. I wanted to release them but having to look into my 4 year olds eyes and tell her I released them would just cause a big temper tamptrum / pouting scene. Fortunitely I brought them home because she was waiting at the door ready to do some filleting. The time before that was this past Saturday a 4lb'er and 2lb'er. Whew I feel better now getting that off my chest. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........Oh yeah forgot to mention they were WALLEYE'S

I'm tired of all you none Buckeye's coming into our Great Ohio Lakes and keeping all our bass infact I think you guys got them all....
