Yes. A 4 pounder on back to back casts.

I was using a critter craw on a Carolina rig. I set the hook, fought it all the way to the boat before the line broke at the hook knot.

I sat down, tied on a new leader, new hook, and a new critter craw and threw way back to the brushpile I was fishing. Almost 80 feet away. As soon as it hit bottom…thump/tug…got it to the boat this time and I got my other hook and critter out of its mouth.

That reminds me, me and dad caught the same trout one time. I set the hook and as I was fighting the fish he set the hook. I went to get the hook out of the fish and there was his hook and power egg right next to mine. Another one of those moments where we can't believe it but we're looking right at it.

Many years ago I was on lake Decatur fishing a jig. Flipped under a dock, got bit, set the hook and broke off. Tied on a new jig, flipped under the same dock and caught a nice bass with two jigs in its mouth.

Yes, caught a 2 pounder under a walkway on a spinnerbait then a week later caught the same fish (had some unique markings) on the same exact cast with the same spinnerbait.

I know that I have caught the same fish more than a few times, but three times of note. Interestingly enough, all three times were in Rodman Reservoir. Once, caught a 4 lber on a Devils Horse that only had one eye, then caught the same fish in the same place a week later on a texas rig. Then, I worked on a large bedding fish once for about a half hour before I finally got her to commit. I fought her a good bit before breaking off in some wood. I sat down, shaking, and retied the exact worm thinking there is no way she is going back to the bed. I stood up and she was sitting in the bed, I made the first cast on the same worm and she hit. Caught her, she slung the other worm out during the fight to the boat. Eleven pounds. The third was an undersized buck bass that I caught 5 times because he would not let the female near the bait. He was too small to put in the livewell so I kept throwing him back. That happened to be the latest bedding fish I ever caught in Florida too, July 4th.

One time. Caught it in the early morning on a spinner bait and then at the same spot, in the early evening, on a Slug-go. Had a notch in its tail, so it was easy to tell.

I have done it twice that I am sure of and probably a lot of other times.

One time I had a Northern Pike bite me off up in Ontario. Came back to the same area about 2 hours later and caught the same pike and got my Vision 110 back out of his mouth. That pike only moved about 10 feet.

Another time I caught a smallmouth in Ontario on a topwater Showerblows Shorty that had very distinct markings. Came back and caught him again of the same submerged rock on the same lure about 4 hours later.

    Three interesting stories to tell.

    1) If you’re familiar with Santee, many years ago caught a deformed tagged bass in March in the back of Angels Cove on a spinnerbait. Mid summer caught the same fish probably close to a mile away in deeper water on a c rig.

    2) At Santee again, a couple years ago was fishing with my son in Russellville, we both casted to the same spot probably 5’ apart. He hooked a nice one on a spinnerbait, I started reeling my Rage craw in because it swam towards my line. Felt a hit, set the hook. Both of us reeled in the same fish, both lures hooked in the mouth.

    3) Probably 40 years ago was fishing on a Saturday in the Cooper River, saw a friend of mine fighting something big. Turned out to be a giant mudfish. Neither of us had a net, so he tried clamping onto its jaw with a pair of vice grips to get his lure back. The mudfish twisted away and swam off with his vice grips still clamped on. The next day we were both in the same general area, I saw something shiny moving through the water. It was the same mudfish. Flipped a red shad Culprit worm to it, caught it, and rescued his vice grips. He couldn’t believe it when I idled up to his boat and tossed them onto his casting deck

I caught a smallmouth on a c-rig in 20+ feet of water one time.
When it got to the boat it jumped and broke me off.
I re tied and threw my c-rig back out. Caught the smallmouth again with my hook and worm still in it's mouth. Not during the spawn, it was mid summer.

Just yesterday I met my boy at the creek below the house. He was throwing a lil crankbait, I asked for a cast and caught a spot with a fat lower lip , skin was red colored. After catching it I messed with some smallmouth that wouldn't eat. before dark we went down and I went to the area with a wacky rig to try for the smallmouth. Caught the Spot with the fat red lip.

A month a go, 15 minutes apart. First time I caught it I could see a large white soft plastic in his throat, the second time he threw that big white brush hog at the boat.

Yes but I don't remember exactly when year wise

On a private lake in south Florida. Caught a decent fish. went to take my worm out and found remnants of my rig decayed also in the mouth. This fish must have broke me off and I forgot. What I fish on this lake I'm certain no one else does because my worm color is a special order to my local zoom rep.

Caught a 9.5 lb bass flipping pads on the St. John’s River. Caught the same fish a week later in a Fishers of Men tournament flipping pads. He was 15 feet from where I released him and twenty five feet from where I originally caught him. Won the tournament and big bass. Fish was caught in August so not a spawner.
