I hate it when the backsplash looks like the exhaust of a big rocket taking off.

Or that one gush that's delayed behind the first one by about 20 seconds.

Not sure how one doesn’t fart afterward. They shoot you full of air. Anyhow, do it, nit that bad.

I never have farted. I guess they deflate me really well when they get through

It's not that bad at all. I've had to go every other year since I had my first one at 40 due to family history. So I've had it done five times now. I've lost family members who were way to young. The test is nothing compared to what I watched them go through.

You should really start at 45, but late is generally better than never. The prep isn't something that you can't overcome--it is just weird having so much liquid moving through your bowels. The nap is fine.

I've surpassed double digits in colonoscopies. Nothing to it. The prep sucks. Afterwards, have the wife take you to Waffle House for the All-Star breakfast. I'm always half-starved post procedure...

Change you toilet seat out to one of those soft fuzzy ones before starting.

On my last one I woke up in the middle of the procedure. I told the doctor I was awake and it hurt like hell. He told me they don’t put you that far under anymore. I told him I won’t be back anymore. I’m 82 and my doctor told me I’m due for another one, but I’m going to chance not getting another one. If I was 50 I would get them as scheduled.

My second one came after my annual physical and during the prostate exam they said they found some blood in my stool. They scheduled me with a proctologist and when I met with her before the procedure I told her I thought the blood was due to an over zealous prostate exam. We both laughed about it. After the procedure she came into the room and said they didn't find anything and that I may have been right with the over zealous exam.

The only problem with it is prep. Everything else is gravy, literally.

Yes I have done a few and the last one was with the pills instead of the liquid chalk stuff. They are both very effective. The prep is definitely the worst part you won't know anything about the procedure.

I had my first one done at 48 at the direction from my doctor. Good thing I did, they found a large polyp that couldn't be taken care of during the exam. Ended up having to have surgery to have it removed. Had I waited until 50 it would have been much worse I would guess. As most have said, drinking that nasty shit is awful and very hard to get it all down, then all Hell breaks loose . I had the unfortunate experience of waking up during the exam and watching the screen live during my exam. Unfortunately it is a must to catch it before colon cancer sets in.

It's not that bad. I did it last year. I started eating very light several days before and started the liquid diet a day before they told me to start. Also, I had a choice of two type of prep stuff. One was a gallon jug of stuff and the other was two small bottles of stuff and drinking a lot of water. I went with the two small bottles.

I have done three. They are not life changing events. The preparation part should be complete long before bed time. The girl with the sleepy medication is your friend. Be nice to her. You will probably sleep most of the day after your test. You will be ready to fish the next day.
