Could be a good way to prevent it from happening in the future. Especially with everyone having cameras.

Just wondering if anyone actually watches all the elites. Guys pulling in on spots that other are on seems pretty common, always wondered if there is some unwritten rule that you can fish very close to another competitor if you pre fished there. Seen it dozens of times over the years.

Not defending whatever happened, just saying its a common occurrence in the elites.

Where's that Lawyer guy. He could have made a lot of money in the last few weeks. Could even be a new TV Show. " Law and Order Bass Fishing ".

And I agree the reverse launching order usually keeps this in check- I believe Bernie should have waited for Koopal to go up the bank and then he should have come in-I will say ever since the pandemic and massive amounts of people on lakes people do this shit all the time by me and then, if you say some thing they look at you like they didn’t do anything wrong-I recently brought this up to an older marine guy that was in an old ranger on a lake by me and his response to me was you don’t own the water don’t tell me what to do-I told him have some respect out here and honor peoples areas they are fishing he gave me the finger…. The bigger issue is people are not aware of etiquette on the water, and in this day and age when you try to help them understand that , they either wanna throw down or tell you to go f*ckyourself. What a sad world we live in this bullshit didn’t happen 10 years ago.

I disagree 💯 it definitely happened 10 years ago and it will still happen in 10 more. Some folks just don’t care about anyone or anything but themselves

Where is Denny Brauer when you need him? That Arkansas river Elit event Denny won (AMart was 2nd I believe), JVD got maybe within 50 yards of Brauer and Brauer told him in no uncertain terms to get the heck out of there and JVD vamoosed. No way Brauer would've let the Bern cut him off like that.

I have fished with Bernie Schultz as a non-boater when they allowed co anglers and he was not fun to fish with, I found him to be generally negative in personality and never spoke easy or made an effort to make me feel welcome. I think it is just his personality.

Not being surprised that Bernie had that personality in him, I do think that it would have gone a long way if Caleb briefly stopped by Bernie and let him know that he is planning on fishing that area as well and just said that and Good Luck and ran down the lake.

If Bernie truly apologized at end of day 1 in person and those videos still ended up streaming out on Instagram then i think the one that was a duchebag was Caleb, especially taking down one video just to put up another the next day.... that's middle school social media stuff imo. What wrong did he think he would right ?

I think both of these guys have thin skin and when you have thin skin i think its best to do preventive methods before you blow up. They both showed their worst side and Caleb could have looked like the prince of compassion if he handled it differently after the initial mouth blast from Bernie.

Bernie probably “apologized” so Caleb would keep his mouth shut. It ain’t hard to figure out - Bernie is a douche and Caleb is passive and meek. Bernie knew who he was approaching... Good on Caleb for posting a video - maybe it will keep folks from doing douchy things to him in the future.

I don't know him at all other than watching BASS for years and years, and this is as good a description as any to how he comes across.

When you consider all the adoring hero worshipping posts on Social Media plus all the whining on behalf of the Pros calling for unrealistic B.S. like the lakes to being closed to the Public during a tournament because those poor guys are just out there trying to feed their families.

It’s no surprise that there is a sense of entitlement in Tournament Fishing that constantly invokes the ever changing Unwritten Rules.

No reason Bermie couldn't have had a conversation with Caleb right there and then. But to cut him off like that is a douchbag move.

If I’m Caleb, there’s no way I’m telling a guy who is fishing a spot on day 1 that I “plan to fish here tomorrow”, like Bernie suggested he should. That tells Bernie to just burn the place down and fish it out on Day 1. Bernie got called out for being a bully and now he’s backtracking. Simple as that.
