Gas keeps going up the economy will go the other way. Will a war with Iran be the result?

Don't stop at just gas!!!! Let them foot the bill for their own retirement...either invest in a 401K, Roth...etc. and then they have to use Social Security!!! Pay for their own medical benefits and it can only be as good as we have...like 80/20 AT BEST!!!!! Obama's answer to high fule prices??? "If you drive a vehicle that gets 8 MPG...you might want think about a trade-in!!!" Let him set the example by parking all those Suburbans and putting a bunch of Volts in his motorcade!!!!!!!

Re: Dang...gas jumped to $3.90 today (Longrodder)

Give em a break they are civil servants. They can use the same VA facilities as the military for healthcare OR the 80/20 split. On the split remember the doc only gets paid the Medi rate and bills the rest. They can participate in a 401K just like the military, like the military there will be no match. The pension will be an average of the last three years of military pension amounts. Hell they are "rich" and don't need the money anyhow.

We pay for our gas, all taxes, my service connected disability is taken out of my pension (no extra money), subject to recall for a total of 30 years, can lose all the great benefits above the 61st day in prison if there for a felony, gave up most my civil rights for 20 years to get it. Taint nothing to getting this cushy military gig. I'm with you put ALL civil servants on the same gig and watch the rats start jumping ship in DC and every state in the union.

As for gas prices, I've always read on BBC it's the presidents fault, at least it was in 07 and 08. I keep reading about deflation, for two years the government has said prices overall went down. This year they went up not quite 3%. They even stuck an extra months tax on those of us that receive a government pension including military pensions to cover the only COLA IN THREE YEARS. At least 51% of America voted for this change.

My only advice at this point would be to keep in touch with your family on fixed incomes. My electric bill has damn near doubled in a year thanks to fees and taxes (I'm on coal). Gas is going to hurt this summer. The elderly can be proud and won't ask for help. Help them if you can....they gave us what we have today.

I don't mind paying a little extra to help out our country.

People think the price of gas will drop if we refine our own resources.

Too high for me to be buying a boat. No thanks. All I can do just to keep the car full.

If Greece defaults on their loans, the war will be here.

There is nothing you or I can do about it other than dont waste it, plan your trips to town so you can get everything done you need done in one trip. Put in closer to where you want to fish and just wait it out. It is what it is, nothing more nothing less ya know. The mowers have to run and the trucks gotta pull em where they are going so......... onward and upward.
