No the pressue does not drop it stays around 7psi I think that is want I saw on the laptop.</TD></TR></TABLE>
i hear you have a few days off around the very first part of 09 bring it down and we will have a rally at table rock "Go BIG or go home III"![]()
Not to hijack this post or anything.. But a mid winter Tablerock rally sounds like fun... So Jan what? Been pushing the freezing water limit up here, ran the boat the other day with 32^ temps 15 - 20 mph wind and snow.. BURRR!!BUt it was fun, and I hit my personal best speed with my mildly modified fishing motor.. Thats right, a Hydro-tec fishing motor went .... Digit Digit Digit ..... And my wife WASN'T driving....

..............good for you Keith!! That may quiet down the nay sayers........

any of you guys chalking up the performance issues to the ethanol switch or winter blended fuel?
The fuel may be a problem but not 10+mph.
You mentioned that you were running about 12 lbs of water pressure and lost a bunch of rpm, then you dropped engine down and got 30 psi rpm picked up, just a goofy thought, is your water pressure gauge right? Maybe you're starving the engine for water and it is going into limp mode when running hot? Then picks up rpm when you give it a drink?
I don't know,.... I've got brain freeze....![]()
Thanks but I have had it all over the psi range with it not running just every once in a long while it will run for no reason, and even at 12 psi the engin never runs hot. I try to stay around 20psi for the most part and it still does not want to run.
I have had it ball to the wall with the psi between 10 and 15 psi and only doing 83 to 85 then with out making any changes it will just take off and doing over 90 in a flash.
Keep guessing cause I am all ears at this point. Will try just about anything!
i had a 225 hpdi a few years back that did that, just lost power after 1 year.i lost 200 rpm and about 3mph.no one could figure it out, had the prop worked, new plugs ,filters, computer check up, etc.finally traded the boat in?

I maybe way out of line here but now that you posted this, it sounds alot like a problem I had on my 2000 200HPDI and it turned out that 1 of the clips on the fuel injection driver computer was broke off and it sometime come apart just a little on that side to act like a short ( most the time it happen on bigger water because of longer runs) we went though the motor looking at a ton of stuff then just started to unplug and plug things back in when it was seen
have you check the wiring plug to this computer??

Kirk to start with NO you are not out of line in the least! I am at the end and just don't know what to check that has not already been looked at.
But to answer you, Not to my knowledge has it been checked. I will make a quick check to see.
But I have taken off the red boots on the spark plug wires and checked each one of them to see if they all read the same. They ranged from 4.45 to 4.70 omhs. not to bad.
Connor,
I know this will sound weird!! But I have had some customers complain about similar performance lost and found that they were using a very popular brand of 2 stroke oil bought from Bass Pro. Are you running some of this by chance??
Connor have you check the volts to your fuel injectors?? mine were alittle low but within range also, but when I replaced the fuel injector driver computer they were nuts on and my problem was gone
like I said my problem was the ear or peg not to sure what to call it but it was gone on 1 side of the housing (looks like a pin for a posted broad) so since that was gone and the volts were down alittle I replace the computer, didn't want to just jerry rig it to get by.
but I was thinking maybe your is just not pushed in all the way or something
Wayne what brand of oil are you talking about??? I use Pennzoil 100% syn in my motor so I'm just asking because BPS does sell Pennzoil
Another simple thought.. I had a couple of the injector wires themselves come slightly unplugged, the engine sounded fine, idled fine, got up on plane fine, was just down on rpm... Decided to check the injector wires, and two of them went click back into place and oozed out plenty of the factory grease... You've got to pull the plastic cover off to get to them, 5mm allen and a 8mm socket. ??? maybe....
Wayne I am using Pennzoil.
What oil do you suggest?
I have had it a two dealer and am not sure just what they looked at as for as the computer and injectors. My guess is that they did not look at these at all.
YamaLube...........so you have not had the injectors cleaned or checked??
No but I don't have but about 30 hours on it. I would not think that they would need cleaning, but could be the problem or part of it.
You think I should change to the Yamalube?
Ok, I just took the boat to the lake yesterday and ran it. Here's the full meal deal on data...Air temp 60 degrees, wind 10mph, water temp 59 degrees, elevation 1650. The only things in the boat were 3/4 tank of fuel (both sides were 3/4 full), empty livewells, 3 group 29 batteries, spare prop, a couple drinks and about 3 pounds of ice, myself (175 pounds), my daughter (72 pounds) and a dog (8 pounds). There was 1 rod with one spoon on it, no tackle, no extra stuff...nothing. Boat was empty of any fishing tackle or towels or scissors or anything. Remember this is a Skeeter ZX 250 with a 250 hpdi both 2006 year model. I was turning a 25t1, unmodified. Jackplate is set at what the factory recommends (don't remember the height). Best run was with the wind @ 5600 rpms and 70.3 mph. I think I have to come to terms that I own a sloth.![]()
not to steal the thread but in reply, what was your water pressure? if you've got good wp there might be some more to be found by bringing the motor up. can't the yammie's turn 5700 or 5800? to boot, an unmodified factory prop almost always has room to be improved. balance, blueprint, pitch checked....
