its one thing if they ask and whatch what they are doin git is another if they just light one up an go to smoking sling ash everywhere.
Cheaper to keep a kid in tourney fishing than paying attorneys to keep them out of jail !!

Limit your rods to no more than 5 and tackle to one big bag or a couple of small ones.

I lay down the rules at the pre-tourney meeting. No stepping on seats and if you have to piss do it out the back so I can wash it off with back wash coming off of plane. And I inform him of the 5 rod rule and tackle rule. Thats pretty standard in the HPA though.

Re: Ethics of a nonboater (Bigbassbo)

I think it works both ways. As much as gas is, it's nice to have a guy come along with you to the lake to help with expenses and it's not always easy to find someone that likes to fish the way you do, will fish behind you, stay out as long as you like, and will split the expenses. I'm usually pretty good to guys that will do that. Most of the other BS is just common sense. My .02.

6-5, no big deal, but when some dude shows up with 8-10 rods we have some issues.

Seriously though. If your boater is any good at all they will tell you what to bring and what not to bring. They should know how and where you guys will be fishing and you can bring what he suggests and then bring a few of your own confidence baits.
